The end of the year is a busy time, as many benefits expire then. In this blog, we answer questions that our benefit users frequently ask us.

Remember to use expiring benefits

Before we get started, we want to remind you about expiring benefits. Don’t miss out on using them. If you're unsure where to use your benefits, check out OwnGiftcard here. With OwnGiftcard, you get an additional 3 months to use your benefits, giving you more time to think about where you want to spend them.

Log into the SmartumPay app in time!

If you haven’t logged into the SmartumPay app for a while, please keep the following things in mind:

Log in well in advance of your benefits expiring. This way, you can ensure that last-minute technical issues won’t hinder your ability to use your benefits. If you haven’t activated your benefits yet, feel free to read this article for assistance.

You can always check the current status of your benefits in the SmartumPay app. You will see how many benefits you have left and when they expire. Additionally, you can find ideas for using your benefits in the app's content carousel.

Answers to your questions

I can´t see my benefits

First, check and review the following items. Possible reasons why your benefits may not be visible can be found here. If your benefits still do not appear, please contact customer service.

Check these first:

1. Make sure you have activated your benefits using the email you received. The link in the email is one-time use, so if you didn't complete the registration or haven't received the email, please contact your employer.

2. Uninstall the app from your phone. Restart your device to close any background applications, and then reinstall the app.

3. Log in using strong authentication methods, such as Mobile Certificate or online banking credentials. Please do not use your username and password."

How and where can I pay with my benefits?

Paying with the SmartumPay app is easy. Always remember to check before approving the payment that you are paying the correct service provider, have selected the right type of benefit, and the amount is correct. If you’re unsure where to use your benefits, take a look at OwnGiftcard. The OwnGiftcard is purchased using your existing benefits, so there are no extra costs for you. How do I pay with Smartum's culture benefit?

You can pay at thousands of different locations with Smartum's culture benefits. Please note that, for example, in the Tiketti online store, you can combine two different payment methods. Pay part of the amount with benefits and the rest with a payment card. If you're using the Lippu.fi ticket service and want to combine two different payment methods, please contact customer service. No time to use your benefits?

Buy OwnGiftcard with your benefits. You’ll get an additional 3 months to use your benefits. The OwnGiftcard is purchased using your existing benefits, so there are no extra costs involved.

You can buy the OwnGiftcard with exercise, exercise and culture, massage, or commute benefits. Once purchased, it is immediately available for use, and you can pay with it in the same way as your other benefits using the SmartumPay app. You can also view the details of the OwnGiftcard in the app.

For example, if you purchase the OwnGiftcard with your exercise benefit, you can use it at the same locations as your original benefit.

Get your OwnGiftcard from the Accounts section of the SmartumPay app.

The view of the OwnGiftcard in the SmartumPay app varies slightly depending on whether you have the Smartum Saldo or Plus benefit. With the Saldo benefit, you can purchase the OwnGiftcard one month before your benefits expire. With Plus benefits, you can buy the OwnGiftcard up to 4 months before the benefit expires.
