When an employee's employment ends, you can manage their Smartum benefits in several ways. As an employer, you might want to control how long the former employee can use their Smartum benefits or completely remove their information.
Each organization can decide on its own policy. Based on our experience, employers typically handle this situation in one of three main ways:
-
The former employee is allowed to use the benefits until they are finished.
-
The former employee is allowed to use the benefits for a set period, such as 3 or 6 months after the end of their employment, after which the benefits are returned to the company's account by the benefit administrator.
-
The former employee's benefits are deactivated and returned to the company's account on the same day their employment ends.
