What is the OwnGiftcard?
The OwnGiftcard functions like a regular employee benefit transaction.
If you haven’t used all your benefits before they expire, you can extend their validity by purchasing an OwnGiftcard. The gift card grants you an additional three months of usage, starting from the date your original employee benefits would have expired.

-
The app will show you the option to purchase the OwnGiftcard in the Accounts view when it becomes available.
-
The purchasing period varies depending on the benefits you have, but you can buy the OwnGiftcard approximately 3–4 months before your benefits expire.

-
Select the amount, choose the gift card type, and slide the Pay slider to complete the purchase.
Note: The purchasing option is provided separately for each expiring benefit, so you don’t need to worry about accidentally using benefits that are still valid.
When does the OwnGiftcard validity period start?
The OwnGiftcard's validity starts from the day your original benefit would have expired.
For example, if your benefit was set to expire on December 31, 2024, the new expiration date would be March 31, 2025.
You purchase the Smartum OwnGiftcard with your existing benefits, meaning there are no extra costs for you.
How is OwnGiftcard combined with deductible amounts?
If your employer has set a deductible amount for your benefits, the same applies to OwnGiftcard.
Make sure you have enough balance in your OwnWallet to cover the deductible amount before making a purchase.
