What is the health benefit and how do I use it as an employee?
The health benefit is intended for paying for health services that maintain work ability. The benefit can be used for services such as dental care, physiotherapy, optometric services, and specialist medical services.
Your employer defines the types of services (dental care, physiotherapy, optometric services, specialist medical services) that you can use the health benefit for. Therefore, check in the SmartumPay app before using it to see which services your employer has selected.
Where can you use the health benefit?
The health benefit can only be used for services selected by your employer (dental care services, physiotherapy services, optometric services, and/or specialist medical services).
It's important to note that the health benefit can be used for specialized glasses prescribed by an optician or doctor (e.g., computer glasses) and for optician and ophthalmologist costs. Regular glasses are not covered by the health benefit.
Check the service types in the SmartumPay app:
- Open the app.
- Select "Health" from the top menu.
- You will see a list of health benefit usage options selected by your employer. Find a suitable location and utilize your benefit!
You can find health benefit usage locations in Smartum's service locator or in the SmartumPay app.
Book an appointment online or by phone at the service location and inform the cashier that you will be using Smartum health benefit as the payment method. Payment can be easily made on-site using the SmartumPay app.
Health benefit does not cover aesthetic services
The health benefit cannot be used for aesthetic services such as teeth whitening or beauty treatments. Pampering treatments or other cosmetic procedures are also not included in the health benefit coverage.
